GIRD has in 2020 helped communities living around the river Tana in Garissa county and Tana River (Kenya) with the following essential services for their daily finishing activities – Access to local fishing boats with fishing nets. Supporting women and youth on business management, and economic development including:

• Market chain advisory to sell their fishing products.
• Fishing benefits and education on fishing as a source of food, and sustainable livelihoods.
• Training on fishing and fish catching methods, as well as safer practices.
• Construction of fish boats.
