BSEES
Embarking on a transformative journey, the Baidoa Socio-Economic, Employability, and Entrepreneurship Strengthening (BSEES) project is currently underway from 2022 to 2025, spearheaded by GIRD within the framework of the GIZ funded program, Strengthening Resilience of IDP’s, Returnees, and Host Communities in Baidoa District.
This initiative has already borne fruit in the form of improved income opportunities for IDPs, returnees, and the local population, with a particular focus on empowering the youth and women of Baidoa. Individual empowerment for employment and entrepreneurship has witnessed notable enhancements.
The project strategically centers around three key outputs:
- Enhanced Capacity Building: The project is diligently working to bolster the capacity of both governmental and non-governmental entities. By providing counseling and actively promoting employment, these actors are being equipped to better serve and uplift the target group.
- Individual Empowerment: The cornerstone of the project lies in the amplified empowerment of IDPs, returnees, and the local population concerning employment and entrepreneurship. The endeavor is to create an environment where individuals are not just beneficiaries but active contributors to the economic landscape of Baidoa.
- Psychosocial Support: Recognizing the importance of holistic well-being, the project has committed to making low-level psychosocial support services readily available to IDPs, returnees, and the local population. This reflects a comprehensive approach that extends beyond economic facets to address the overall welfare of the community.
