Global Initiative for Resilience and Development

GIRD GLOBAL is a non-profit organization established in 2016, registered in Kenya and Somalia. Our focus is on mobilizing and building the capacity of pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya and Somalia, including areas like Tana River, Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Moyale, and Isiolo.
Our mission is to enhance community participation in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation to improve accountability, transparency, and sustainability of interventions aimed at reducing vulnerability to crises.
Our vision is to create resilient communities that can effectively manage challenges related to food insecurity, drought, and conflict, ensuring a brighter future for all members of the community.
